Transformative changes in the traditional retail sector along with macro-economic factors such as trade disputes as well as changing consumer preferences are some of the forces reshaping the traditional wholesale fashion apparel model.

As a result, companies are identifying opportunities in the current market by pivoting their business model and selling directly to the end customer. And while this allows brands to better control their businesses, D2C requires a different skillset – across sales, marketing, sourcing and supply chain functions.

In this WWD digital event, industry experts share insights into transitioning a company from B2B to D2C by addressing these key questions:

  • Will the wholesale model survive this current landscape?

  • What are wholesale apparel companies are doing now to shift towards being a ‘brand’?

  • What skill sets are needed to address the customer directly?

  • How to choose a technology platform that can support current wholesale business and scale new D2C channels.
